Collect 3 facts about New Zealand
Activity 1:
- New Zealanders are also called kiwis but kiwi is not a fruit. It is New Zealand’s native flightless bird.
- The Maori name of New Zealand is Aotearoa which means the land of the long white cloud.
- It was the first major nation to have universal suffrage. In 1893 all male and female citizens are legally allowed to vote.

Activity 2:
- Auckland is a phenomenal place, it has the tallest tower in New Zealand.
- New Zealand has a beautiful scenery like KaiKoura and Wanaka.
- New Zealand is best well known as making the best wine, having abundant of sheep and recording lord of the rings movie.

ReplyDeleteThankyou very much for beginning the Summer Learning Journey with some great facts. I'm Lee, one of the blog commentors and it's great to meet you. I like how in Activity 1 you've told everyone straight away the kiwis are not named after the fruit! The other facts are really interesting too.
For activity 2, it's great you have told us about the abundant numbers of sheep and beautiful scenery. I'd love to see you join those great ideas into a paragraph - for example where are Kaikoura and Wanaka? What else about Auckland makes it phenomenal? I'd love to read that.
