Title: Order Of Operations

WALT : Solve Maths equations that have more than one operations using the order of operations rule. (BEDMAS / PEDMAS)

SUCCESS CRITERIA :

• I must understand the meaning of the term operations.
• I must understand the order of operations rule.
• I must able to solve an equation with multiple operations.

1. 3 + 7 x 4 = 31

7 x 4 = 28

28 + 3 = 31

2. 5 - 2 + 3 = 0

2 + 3 = 5

5 - 5 = 0

3. 6 x 4 ÷ 3 + 1 = 9

24 ÷ 3 + 1

8 + 1 = 9

4. ( 4 -2 ) + 3 x 6 = 20

2 + 3 x 6

2 + 18 = 20

5. 8 + 3 x ( 4 - 1 ) x 2 = 26

8 + 3 x 3 x 2

8 + 3 x 6

8 + 18 = 26

 6. 2( 32 + 1)2 = 200

2 ( 9 + 1 )2

2 x 102

2 x 100 = 200

 7. 3 + ( 4 + 5) 2 ÷ 27 = 6

3 + 92  ÷ 27

3+ 81  ÷ 27

I have been solving equations using the most efficient and the quickest way.

1. 16( 1 + 1 ) = 32

2. 6 x 5 + 6 + 5 = 41

3. 9 x 8 - ( 16 x 2 ) = 40

4. 6(36 ÷ 12 = 18

5. 12 x 12  ÷ 12 = 12

6. 156  ÷ 12 + 12 = 15

7. 12 x 2 - 3 x 2 = 18

8. 21 x 11 + 10 = 241

9. 121  ÷ 11 + 12 - 9 = 14

10. 36 + 36 x 12 = 864
