Activity 2:
Matariki is the Maori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. Tupu-a-nuku, Tupu-a-rangi, Waipuna Rangi, Waitiand Waita, Matariki, and Ururangi are the seven sisters. When it rises in the north-eastern skies in late May or early June, it signals to Maori that the New Year will begin. Did you know the Matariki star means little eye just like the other sister which they mean something.

Tell us what you see in the photo
Activity 3:
These are the clouds shapes that I choose and absolutely think it is the shape that looks like the cloud.

  • This picture looks like a toy beyblade that children play with.

  • This cloud looks like it is going to suck up the houses beneath it.

  • The cloud is like a tornado that it is about to destroy the houses.

  • This cloud looks like a UFO.

  • This cloud looks like a bowl.

  1. Kia Ora Michelle,

It's me again AeaAra from Wesley Primary School.

First of all congratulations on your amazing post.

I really like your acrostic poem but I thought it was ment to be based on the lights. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I like all the descriptive words you have chosen to use.

Anyway keep up the good work.

    Blog you later Bye 😀

It is great to see you attempting the acrostic poem! However to receive full points your poem has to be about lights. Take your time with each activity and carefully read the instructions

    Activity 2
Thanks for sharing your summy of Matariki! The Matariki stars are a wonderful part of Maori culture! What kind of things do people usually do to celebrate Matariki?

    Activity 3
This is an awesome post! It’s great to see you share so many ideas! Most students said it is a ufo and left it at that! You however have gone above and beyond! Ka-Pai!

    keep up the great work!
