The Great Crayfish Escape                                                                            SJP3N3,2006


1. Retell this story on a double page in your book (or below) by drawing pictures and writing captions.  Include the cousin’s house, Mr Mason’s house, the hedge and the beach.

The crayfish was frightened in that slimy mouth, the dog thought people was chasing him because it was a game, Mr Mason were yelling at the kids that were in his hedge, the cousins were chasing his dog.


2. Complete 2 thought bubbles for the brave and determined crayfish.




3. What do you think the family had for dinner?

The family had plum pudding for dinner



4. List 3 new excuses the boys could tell the adults about what happened to the crayfish disappearing.

The crayfish exploded into pieces so I cleaned up the mess,  The pot fell down so the crayfish stood up and left, Mr Mason came into our house and ate the crayfish.


5. Read the phrases from the story and write what they mean. Choose one and create a cartoon picture of it.

6. The crayfish was still alive when it was put into the fridge and waiting to be cooked for dinner. How do you feel about this? Why?

I’m happy that the family is going to have a feast but the crayfish haven’t had a discovering of the world yet. Because the crayfish maybe haven’t met his family. And the family finally got together to eat.





7. Write a description of Mr Mason which includes his personality and appearance.

8. List 3 advantages and 3 disadvantages for having Mr Mason as a neighbour.
