Title: Summer Learning Journey

Tell us which one of the videos you liked the best and why
Activity 1:

The video I liked was the zero invasive predators, I choose this video because it’s all about predators eating native New Zealand animals such as Kiwi, Tui and many more. They build transmitters to know what the native animals are doing so they could rescue the eggs and chicks before they are eaten.

Post three facts that you learned about the Māui Dolphin

  1. Females dolphin grow to 1.7 m long and weigh up to 50 kg

  1. Males dolphin are slightly smaller and lighter than female dolphin.

  1. Females have their first calf (baby) between 7 – 9 years of age.

create three more statements about Māui dolphins that are not true (i.e. false

  1. Māui dolphin are the biggest of the world’s 32 dolphin species.

  1. Māui and Hector's dolphins look different to other dolphins.

I really like the fake facts about the Māui dolphin that you have come up with.On reading them initially, they are very believable.

You have provided some really great reasons to save the animal and plants on your list. I think white tigers are so beautiful. I worry they will go extinct in my lifetime.

What is your favourite animal? Is it something that is on your list?

    Bye for now.

  2. Hi Izzy, my favourite wild animal is a lion because lions are the most important species, lions love to take charge basically when it is taking charge in a jungle it is called lion king, I love taking charge even if some of my older siblings or cousins is staying over and I do not have it on my list.

    Talk to you Later
