Question 1: Which pair of words best describes how modern builders
probably feel about the Leaning Tower of Pisa today?

Answer:
Proud and Confident

View passage image
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a famous building in Italy. The Tower is famous because it tilts to one side. The tower began to tilt
during its construction in the 1200s. In the following decades, the tilt only got worse. The builders of the tower came up with differ
ent ideas to explain this. In the end, they concluded that the ground the tower sat on was too soft and caused the building to sink on
one side.
Although tilted, the tower still exists today. In fact, it is a major tourist attraction. Modern builders have done things to make sure the
tower c
\ontinues to lean, but does not fall down. Their efforts have been successful. Between 1990 and 2001, the tower leaned at an angle of
5.5 d
egrees. But the tower now leans at about 3.99 degrees. In 2008, construction workers performed more work on the tower.
They removed 7
7 tons of ground to try to make the tower more level. They say the tower will now be stable for the next 200 years.

Plenty of golden strips bent over shaped like a cage, trapping me as their delicate prisoner. Viewing the birds fluttering around as  paper planes, the clouds are murky like rocky road. They churn like black berries combined with black licorice.
The juicy scent sent me flying to heaven. One of the birds gently flew towards me, as a prick of their claws sent the wind dancing with the trees. Soon fell dawn and the shimmering moon lit the scene. I could hear the sleepy birds taking off to their beds and the stars waking up, bright and shine. Lonely and lost in my cold exposed cage sat a girl, myself crying my eyes to sleep. As the wind howled to death. Awoken by my treacherous night mare, I drifted back to sleep, staring up as glowing eyes eyeing me to my alarming habit, closing my eyes, awake, closing my eyes, awake, closing my eyes, then eventually hearing a loud snore hovered me to a good night's sleep.
